Brook Art Studio
Artists, Carol and Mel Brook, live in Scottsdale, Arizona and have their art studio in their home. Their studio was started so they could share their enjoyment of art. Living in the Southwest and seeing the colorful sunsets brings out their creativity which results in the wide variety of their leather vessels and acrylic paintings.
Enjoy viewing their one-of-a-kind leather vessels and original acrylic paintings and when you find something that you would like to purchase or commission them to create a special piece for your home, let them know through the online form on the "Contact Us" tab on this site.
Their artwork is also exhibited in several art shows throughout the year.
Brook Art Studio is open by appointment.

Art is the heart of what makes life colorful
Carol Brook, Artist
Leather Artist, Carol Brook, finds inspiration in leather since it offers many possibilities with the different textures and finishes. Her vision of how the leather wants its history and story represented is reflected in her artwork.
She hand selects each vegetable-tanned leather hide embracing all the holes, markings and texture knowing the original fibers of the hide add character to her artwork. These unique features are purposely worked into her leather vessels creating interest and a focal point.
Each vessel is hand sculpted using a wet free-form molding process and dried naturally. Her selection of stains dyes and special finishes makes the one-of-a-kind vessels unique.
Her greatest joy comes from seeing the artwork when they are finished since no two hides are exactly alike and learning how they want to represent their past. That joy continues when the leather vessels find their forever home.
Carol is a Juried artist of the Sonoran Arts League. She is also, a member of Terravita Art League and Wickenburg Art Club. Her leather creations are exhibited in several shows and events each year.
Acrylic Artist, Mel Brook, uses inspiration from living in Arizona and the Southwest creating acrylic paintings with a rich color of depth and texture.
Acrylics allows him to focus on details such as Native American baskets and pottery which is his passion. The paintings replicate designs from historic pottery ranging from early American to modern aesthetics.
Mel also enjoys painting many other subject matters such as landscapes, old vehicles and Southwestern lifestyle. The backgrounds of his paintings are important to him; many of the paintings have a non-distracting background which emphasizes the subject matter.
Mel is a Juried artist of the Sonoran Arts League. Also, a member of Terravita Art League and Wickenburg Art Club. His original acrylic paintings are exhibited in several shows and events each year.
